Shot Peening

Shot peening increases the fatigue endurance limit of components that are exposed to severe cycle stressing.

This is achieved by introducing internal compressive stress in layers close to the surface. Cracks caused by corrosion fatigue can be minimized this way. This technology is used for springs, piston rods, crank shafts, axle arms, sprockets and similar work pieces.

Springs after shot peening

The service life of components may be multiplied. We will gladly conduct test runs on your springs to prove our theory in practice.

Likewise, controlled shot-peening is indispensable for reducing component weight while at the same time ensuring the required dynamic firmness. Another improvement can be achieved by shot peening under stress (stress peening).

Since shot peening increases the surface, the procedure has a positive effect when components are subsequently glued.

  • Increased service life
  • Increased fatigue endurance limit
  • Increased surface
  • Reduction of component weight
